Under the MDS 3.0 system, the Care Area Assessment Process is designed to enhance the facilities ability to conduct a thorough resident assessment and develop an individualized plan of care. The Quality Indicator Survey places a greater emphasis on the care planning process than ever before! The CMS Quality Measures also use many of the MDS CAA triggers in identifying areas of quality concern.
